Hello, my mother in law has gone into care and we jointly own a property. The unrealisable asset under the hardship rule has been approved by centrelink. I may need to relocate/move for work and take out a lease on a studio. My son (19) will still be living in the property along with all my belongs, furniture, etc besides my clothes. Will this effect the hardship rules, as we don’t want to sell but dont want to impact her care either. Please help me understand my residential rights with the hardship/unrealisable asset rule. I will return to the property full time in 12 to 24 months depending on work.
