My husband has just been approved for a home care package at level 4. His application was considered as urgent and I have been told that his funding will be available within 1 month.
I will be managing this and am coming from a knowledge base of zero.
So far, I understand that I will need to make a contribution (I’m self funded) - and I’m starting the process of getting an income assessment etc for this purpose.
However my question is regarding funds allocated and unspent funds. I live in a rural town in NSW. There are only a couple of providers I can choose. However, they are very short on actual staff who provide the services to us under the package. Therefore, if I have service needs, which are available under the package and they are NOT able to provide staff to fulfil those needs where does that leave me financially? That is I have a funding package in place and the provider cannot supply/provide the services I need within the quarterly funding period? I hope this question makes sense and thank you in advance
