Is there age restriction on ACAT assement person looking for care is only 63. If don’t qualify is there another pathway we can take (located QLD)
Needs to be confirmed - but I do recall there is another class - “an aged related” illness that is not chronologically determined - needs specialist confirmation of that
Hi there,
Thanks for your question. The general rule of thumb is that you must be over 65 years old or 50 years or older and identify as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person, or 50 years or older and on a low income, homeless or at risk of homelessness.
I think the best step forward for you is to call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 and explain your unique situation. There may be some circumstances that allow you to access care earlier than 65 years old.
We hope this helps,
The agedcare101 team
